Capital market is an emerging markets in Indonesia. In general, the development is very vulnerable to economic conditions. JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton bombings brought some psychological shocks and increased peoples' perception of the investment risk which in turn triggers market players to sell their shares. They were worried that those events would bring negative impacts on the national economic growth. This research tried to examine whether the exchange rate, stock trading volume, and the interest rate could affect the stock prices of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This research observed the data of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the study period: 18 July to 31 August 2009, which consists of 24 banking companies. The data were then analyzed using multiple regression test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing by using multiple regression analysis, among the three independent variables ( the exchange rate, stock trading volume, and interest rates ) and one dependent variable ( stock price ) shows that the exchange rate and stock trading volume statistically proven to have a positive influence and significant impact on stock prices. While interest rates have no significant effect on stock prices.
