Yustiarini Kusumasyogi (2014). The Slangs Used in a Movie: Fast and Furious 6. A research, Faculty of English Language and Cultural Studies, Undergraduate Degree (S1) of Unisbank University Semarang. Supervisor: Endang Yuliani R, S.S, M.Pd Key Words: Sociolinguistics, Slang Word, Domain, The study is entitled “The Slang Words Used in “The Slangs Used in a Movie: Fast and Furious 6”. The writer chooses the title since there are a lot of slangs found in Fast and Furious 6 movie. This research has three objectives. First, it is aimed at finding out the realization of slangs in Fast and Furious 6 movie. Second, it is aimed at establishing the meaning of slangs exist in Fast and Furious 6 movie. Third, it is aimed to determine the domain of the slangs used in the dialogues of “Fast and Furious 6” The method applied in this research is library research, documentary research and watching the movie. All of slangs found in script of Fast and Furious 6 movie were taken to be the data. In finding out the realization of slang words and its use, the writer watched the movie and found the script of Fast and Furious 6 movie. In analyzing the data, the writer applied qualitative technique. From the data that have been analyzed, it was found that there are ninety (90) slangs used in the Fast and Furious 6 movie. Slang is usually short-living, meaning that the slang of one generation is unlikely to be used by the next one. The slang of the contemporary youth will mostly be replaced within a couple of decades as a new generation creates slang of its own. The meaning of slangs is informal that is used in informal situation and is frequently used by young people.
