Abstract

This study to examine the effect of competence and job characteristics on the performance of the mediation of job satisfaction . Specific objectives of this study is to examine and analyze whether job satisfaction mediates the effect of instrumental competence and job characteristics on performance . Usefulness of the research is to explain and extend previous studies on the effect of competence , job characteristics , and job satisfaction on performance . The study population was a total of 106 employees. The research data is the primary data obtained directly from the respondents with the questionnaire . Method research approach with computer software SPSS for Windows version 19 . The method of data analysis using regression analysis and path analisys .The results showed an interesting empirical conditions to be further investigated as follows : Competence positive and significant effect on job satisfaction , job characteristics and significant positive effect on job satisfaction , characteristics and significant positive effect on performance , competence no significant effect on performance , job satisfaction positive and significant effect on performance , job satisfaction mediates the effect of competence on performance and job satisfaction mediates the effect of job characteristics on performance .
