Abstract
This study uses Adlerian theory from psychoanalysis to examine the moral dilemmas that arise in the novel "My Sister's Keeper." The research focuses on the moral issues and self-discovery that arise when a person struggles between family choices and personal autonomy. To understand the moral complexity faced by the novel characters, this research uses a qualitative approach by looking at the characters and situations depicted in the novel. The results show that the conflict between family responsibilities and the desire for independence causes significant tension in character development and interpersonal relationships. This research shows how feelings of inferiority, the struggle for superiority, and the need for a sense of belonging influence the moral decisions and behavior of the characters in the novel. This conflict shows how individuals struggle to control their lives and how pressure from family and society can influence their moral decisions. This research shows that the main character undergoes a deep process of self-discovery, reflecting the complex psychological dynamics of moral decision-making. This research also emphasizes how important it is to maintain a balance between individual and collective interests in stressful situations, as well as how self-discovery can occur during difficult decision-making processes. These results provide deep insight into the psychological dynamics involved in moral dilemmas. They also show how this impacts how we understand family relationships and autonomy.
