Abstract
Microfinance institutions vary widely, both in terms of the institutional, the purpose,
culture, and other targets. Some microfinance institutions (MFIs) that lending and credit to
micro and small enterprises are follows: savings and credit cooperatives, rural banks, BRI
Unit, and others commercial banks. These MFIs still have strategic role for micro and small
enterprises, especially those in rural areas.In generally the objectives of this research is to
analyze the micro and small credits by savings and credit cooperatives, rural banks, BRI Unit,
and the commercial banks in the region of Central Java. The pool data collection was carried
out micro and small credits in 29 regencies in Central Java in 2000-2005 period, and analyzed
using multiple regression analysis. The research conclusions are as follows: the number of
cooperative office, the number of cooperative members, the number of cooperative assets, the
amount of demand deposits, the number of loans each borrower, number of borrowers each
bank office, the number of bank offices, the number of public savings, and the number of time
deposits have significant influences on micro and small credits in the Central Java Region
