Abstract

The study is created by the author to explain about word formation process used in Indonesian News Articles Published By Berita Satu, Media Holding In Jakarta Globe Newspaper Post On Saturday, 09 March, 2013 Vol.V Issue 391. Finding word formation applied, finding kind of word formation and explaining the process of word formation are objectives of this study. Systematically the author creates problem solving using method of data analysis by identification, classification and interpretation of data. The research is conducted in morphological field. There are types of morphology found namely: Roots, Affixes, Stems, and Base. And there is smallest unit of meaning is called morpheme. There are kinds of morphemes namely Bound Morpheme and Free morpheme, and the Bound Morpheme is divided into two kinds they are Inflectional and Derivational. And word formation is the creation of a new word which is a change in a single word‟s of meaning. It found three word formation process applied they are: affixation, compounding, and multiple process.The author also found some kinds of word formation such as: Blending, Compounding, Clipping, Back Formation, and Acronym. Based on the result of findings and discussion the author found 100 words with the category inflectional it means 62% from 162 total words and 62 words are derivational morpheme means 38% from 162 total words, while based on the kinds of word formation process the author found 154 words of Affixation means 95% from 162 total words, 8 words of Compounding means 5% from 162 total words and based on multiple process found 12 words derived from affixation it means 71% from 17 total words and 5 words derived from compounding it means 29% from 17 total words. So the researcher concluded that the Indonesian News Articles Published by Berita Satu, Media Holding In Jakarta Globe Newspaper Post On Saturday, 09 March, 2013 Vol.V Issue 391 used mostly affixation of word formation process in their articles.
