Abstract
This research paper entitled Semantic Analysis of Dion’s My Heart Will Go On in Relation to “Titanic” Movie.It analyzes the lyrics in Dion’s song, which have figurative expressions. The objective of this study is to determine the types of Figurative language in Dion’s song lyric. The researcher used docummentation as the method of collecting the data. This method was proposed to collect the figurative that are expressed in Dion’s song lyrics.Based on result of the analysis, it can be concluded that in creating the song lyric Dion’s has not used all types of Figurative expressions.There are four (4) figurative languages used in Dion’s song consisting of, they are Synethesia (12.5%), Allusion (6.25%), Personification (50%), Hiperbole (31.25) Personification mostly dominantlyrealized (50%). It means thatthesong lyrics often use romantic expressions.
