Abstract
Ikayani, Ayu. 2014. A Depressed Wife in Richard Lagravenese‘s P.s I love you as a Psychological Study, Faculty of Language and Cultural Studies, under Graduate program of the University of Stikubank Semarang. Supervisor: Dr.Sugeng Purwanto, MA. Key Words: Depression, Woman, Psychological Condition. As one of literary works, film has been familiar to most people. Film belongs to one of non imaginative literary works. The story may cover up reality as well as fiction. By watching the film, there are some values that we can learn. In the movie of P.s I love you, by Richard Lagravenese, he tried to present a film of a futuristic and attractive, which eventually led depressed woman. The approach to the study which is used by the writer in analyzing the psychological condition of Holly Kennedy in P.s I love you, can be classified in to two kinds, they are structural approach and psychological approach. The research findings are that Holly Depressed because her husband died, she felt very sad, disappointed, and feels guilty, he's desperate because there are no more people can understand her other than her husband, and Holly is struggle of her life was very hard, finally she decided to get up from her grief, and struggled to fall in love again.
