Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of personal and social competence of teachers with the moderation of principals’ transformational leadership style on the performance of Junior High School teachers in the District of Kesesi, Pekalongan Regency. The type of the research is the explanatory research with quantitative approach. The population of this research was the teachers of Junior High School in the District of Kesesi, Pekalongan Regency amounted 77 teachers by taking all members of the population as the subjects of the research. The analysis technique used the examination of the multiple linear analysis model. The examination of fit model used the F test (ANOVA) and the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R2). The examination of hypothesis and moderation used t Test. The results showed that: (1) teachers' personal competence had a positive effect and indicated to the the same way of the relationship to the teachers’ performance; (2) teachers' social competence had a positive effect and indicated to the the same way of the relationship to the teachers’ performance; (3) the principal transformational leadership style had a positive effect and indicated to the the same way of the relationship to the teachers’ performance; (4) the principal transformational leadership style did not moderate the influence of the teachers’ personal competence to the teachers’ performance; and (5) the principal transformational leadership style did not moderate the influence of the teachers’ social competence to the teachers’ performance.
