Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and to analyze the influence of the competence and motivation on teacher performance moderated by the principal's leadership style at the District Education Office UPT environment Kandeman Batang. The population in this study is an elementary school teachers at the District Education Office UPT Kandeman Batang. Measurement instrument answers using a Likert scale of 5 (five) alternative answers. Testing instrument using validity and reliability, testing normality using non-parametric statistical test of Kolmogorov-Smirnov, testing classic assumptions using heteroskedasticity and multicollinearity, while testing the model using coefficient of determination and F test (Goodness of Fit). Testing regression using multiple linear regression. Testing the hypothesis in this study using a T test with a frequency distribution of a significant level (α) 5%. The results of this study can be concluded that competence, work motivation, and style of leadership give possitive effect on the performance of teachers. Leadership style did not moderate the effect of competence on teacher performance, leadership style did not moderate the influence of motivation on teacher performance.
