Abstract
This research aims to identify and analyze the effect of Competency on Performance through Job Characteristics and Organizational Commitment, a case study on Koperasi Simpan Pinjam in Central Java. The researched population was the certified Managers of Koperasi Simpan Pinjam in Central Java, and still working as a manager in the Head Office or Branch. This research was conducted with a purposive sampling method and sampling with Slovin formula. Meanwhile the analysis technique uses validity and reliability test, Test Model with R2 Test, F Test and hypotheses testing uses t Test and also mediation test. Based on the analysis and studies, Competency (X) has effect on Job Characteristic (Y1); Competency affects to Organizational Commitment (Y2); Competency does not affect Performance; Job Characteristic affects Performance; and organizational commitment does not affect Performance. Competency influence the job characteristics and job characteristics affect the performance, that job characteristic fully mediating competency on performance. Organizational commitment does not affect the performance and competency does not affect the performance (negative), so there weren’t any mediation test conducted.
