The research paper entitled „Appraisal System Recognized in Obama‟s Address “Africa‟s Crisis Caused by Ebola Virus” in the United Nations General Assembly on September 2 2014‟ has two research questions. They are (1) What Appraisal devices are recognized in the address? (2) How did Obama view the issue on Ebola in the address?. This research used qualitative method. Therefore, the data were construed by employing categorical techniques on the basis of Appraisal theory proposed by Martin and White (2005). The researcher found three kinds of Appraisal System, those are: Engagement which consists of Mono-glossic (11.8%) and Heteroglossic (88.2%). The Hetero-glossic system divided into Dialogic Contraction (19.1%) and Dialogic Expansion (69.1%). Attitude has three systems, they are: Affect (29.2%), Judgment (30.5%) and Appreciation (40.3%). The last sub-system that is Graduation system consists of Force (76.48%) and Focus (23.52%). Based on the analysis of Appraisal System, Obama viewed the issue on Ebola virus as a dangerous epidemic to the world. Attitude, Graduation
