Abstract

This research paper analyzes the Feminism Studythat are found“How To Be Single” Movie (2016) by Christian Ditter.This research paper analyzed the Feminism Study that are found “How To Be Single” Movie (2016) by Christian Ditter. The feminism theory will focus on postmodernist, feminism issued by Charles E. Bressler (1999). The approach that the researcher use to collect the data by using a qualitative approach which collected by using descriptive methods. Then the techniques to collect the data are the researcher will download the movie and the script of the movie, after that the researcher will observe the movie, because this study is about feminism. Then the researcher willapplay theory of feminism then identifying it. The unit of analysis that the researcher will use is in the characters’ dialogue or script. After that, finding how women in literature are socially positioned, especially when women choose the life of singlehood. After that, the movie will analyzes based on the postmodernist feminism theory issued by Charles E. Bressler (1999). The researcher found five character's socially positioned, especially when women choose the life of singlehood in "How To Be Single” Movie (2016) by Christian Ditter. The conclusion is Alice’s purpose is to show us the example of independent woman who takes her own decision and action without being annoyed by her single status. Finally that being single is not something bad nor that must be avoided.
