Abstract
The current study is a psychoanalysis study which aims to investigate psychoanalysis aspects in El Jame’s movie Fifty Shades of Grey. Starting from common understanding that psychological aspects can be found in any situation of human’s life, this study aims to uncover psychological aspects in literature work. Thus, Fifty Shades of Grey is taken as research object because it has characters which depict psychological aspects. Thus, it is applied in this study accompanied by Freudian Psychoanalytic Theory. Together with Psychoanalytic theory. The result of this study shows that the conflict and contradiction in human’s psyche is going to cause internal conflicts. This internal conflicts – if not handled well – then will come out in many different form of actions or behaviors, such as oppression. The conflicts between major characters (Anna and Christian) is the result of different perception between them. These differences can be found in their psychoanalytic models in analysis of their id, ego, and superego. It is evident that id, ego, and superego struggles differently in each characters. The struggles between id, ego, and superego cause different perceptions between characters.
