Abstract
This paper investigated English dialect which may indicate where a person comes from. It evaluated some of the differences between British and American English. The aims are to find the differences between the two dialects and to find what dialects are mostly spoken by the speakers in the TED YouTube channel. Nine speakers in the nine videos are taken to be investigated. The result of the study indicates that both American and British English are spoken in the TED Conference. However, American English is mostly spoken by seven speakers in the conference. British English is only spoken by two speakers. It is about 643 utterances or about 78.99% utterances indicate American English and 171 utterances or about 21.01% utterances are spoken in British English.
