Abstract
This research paper analyzes Marxist study uses Marxism theory by German philosophers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. Starting from common understanding that oppression can be found in any situation of human’s life, this study aims to find out the reasons, actions, and effects of oppression taken by the dominant class to oppress the subordinate class in Lee Unkrich’s Toy Story 3 (2010) movie. The data collected to find out one that indicate the oppression by watching the movie, and reading the dialogue scripts. Finding reveals the reasons that were found in the movie are Lotso’s past, class positions, and pyramid of capitalist system that happened in daycare. The actions that were found are the dominant class did the oppression to the subordinate class. The effects of the oppression are the subordinate class revolt against the dominant class. This paper may reflect oppression in society, and give more understanding about Oppression issue.
