Abstract
This research concerned with the analysis of oppression based on Marx’s Marxist theory in Alexander’s SpongebobSquarepantsKrabbyKronicle. The purpose of this paper was to find out the causess why the main character get oppression, what the action of oppression and the effect of oppression for main character and people who oppress him. Marxism was explained through the life of the characters especially in the main character SpongebobSquarepants.This research used qualitative approach. The data were collected by watching an animated series and then compare the transcript download and then noting important expression which contain oppression based on Marx’s Marxist theory. The bourgeoisie abuse his power to oppress the proletariat. Bourgeoisie wage paid workers as low as possible while asking proletariat to reach the highest level of income. The oppression carried out by bourgeoisie have negative impact for proletariat because he had to work with the rules that he do not like and oppression can causes conflict when proletariat try to fight back the bourgeoisie. After analyzing the data it can be concluded that oppression happened in the workplace because there were two different classes they are bourgeoisie and proletariat.
