Abstract

The research is entitled “Women Obsession Potrayed In Rachel Lee Goldenberg’s Grimm’s Snow White 2012: As Psychoanalysis Study”. This study is aimed to find out how the id, ego and superego of Queen Gwendolyn character in the story. First the writer tries to find out the cause, action and effect obsession that are portrayed in Grimm’s Snow White 2012. Then, how are the cause and action portraying the Id, Ego, and Superego of Queen Gwendolyn. The context of this paper is to find out the psychology (Id, Ego, Superego) of Queen Gwendolyn in the movie that directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg using Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis theory. The writer uses a descriptive qualitative approach and psychoanalysis of literary as one method of the research. The writer found that the Id, Ego, and superego of Queen Gwendolyn play its roles in every decision she has made in her obsession. In addition, the conflict of id, ego and superego also happened in their psyche. The id which is guided by pleasure principles, the ego guided by reality principle, and superego guided by morality principle have important roles in establishment of character Queen Gwendolyn.
