Abstract
This thesis is entitled code switched realised in the language application “Speaky”. There are 7 participants and an interlocutor who switched in other languages, namely Chinese,Taiwanese, Malaysian, Indonesian, Javanese, and Arabic. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research that aims to find about the type of code switching with theory of Blom and Gumperz (1972) and Poplack (1980), that the participants produce in Speaky and find the purposes of code switching Hoffman (1991)used in Speaky. There are steps taken in processing and analysing the data, namely by selecting people around the world who are online or active in Speaky, chatting with the participants, finding the codes switched, capturing the data , then retyping and segmenting the data.
