Abstract
This final project entitled Courage of Oskari in Big Game as a Reader Response Criticism by Jalmari Helander is aimed to discover courage that Oskari does, as the main character and the struggle of survive of Oskari in Big Game movie. The study is designed in descriptive qualitative research. The theory applied in this study is Rosenblatt’s transactional reader-response theory in 1938. The result of the study is the reader-response approach can be applied in investigating characters and characterization of Big Game movie. The main character of the movie named Oskari is a main character who experiences to save United States President from terrorist. Due to his complex diverse experiences, he meets many people and brings forth his courage. From the Big Game viewers, the courage of Oskari get many response. The result of the study is Oskari doesn't think too much about the risk to become a courage boy.
