Abstract
The aim of the research is to find out the causes of Kevin has 24 different personalities and the effects of dissociative identity disorder experienced by Kevin.The data is analyzed by referring to the theory of Psychoanalysis by Sigmund Freud. This study is classified as qualitative research. As part of psychoanalysis study, the researcher used psychological approach. Movie Split tells about a man that has 24 different personalities, and he is unconscious with his personality. The main character has 24 personalities but in movie it splits into 4 personalities that often appear. The finding of this research is the causes of Kevin has 24 different personalities because his traumatized experience in his childhood, his fright of his mother and he does not get sufficient helps in his growing period. Based on the discussion of the study, it is found the effects of dissociative identity disorder experienced by Kevin is he has got 24 different personalities, he cannot control his different personalities, certain personalities fight for becoming the dominant and he struggles to fight for his own personality as Kevin. The conclusion of this study tells about the trauma experienced by someone, because it is able to change the others personality. Someone who experienced dissociative identity disorder has a mental disorder. Someone who experiences such things believes that they are what they believe. Their brains learn to protect themselves and they are able to do things that others do not have.
