Abstract
This thesis entitled Materialism As Reflected In Elisabeth Laird‟s The House On The Hill As A Psychoanalysis Study, is intended to answer the questions in the problems statement. The reasons to analyze this story are: first, The House On The Hill has full of values that only the aesthetic quality but also moral teaching which are appropriate to be analyzed. Second, this story has many strange behaviors especially reflected in the minor character as Materialistic and the antagonist character. This subject of the research is Materialism in story The House On The Hill, while the object of the research is psychological analysis: that analyzed the Materialism of the Minor character that found in the story The House On The Hill. In collecting data, the writer employs the library research. The main data is taken from the story The House On The Hill composed by Elisabeth Laird. The supporting data are taken from books, journals, and internet resources that support and explain analyzed by using theory of psychology.
