Abstract
This study analyse Dastan‟s struggle to save Alamut Kingdom reflected in Prince of Persia movie directed by Mike Newell which is published in 2010. The objectives of the studies are to analyze the structural elements in the movie and to analyze the struggle of the main character. The writer employs the descriptive qualitative research as a type of the research. The data sources are divided into two, namely primary data source and secondary data source. The primary data source is the movie and script of Prince of Persia and the secondary data source is information related to the primary data source, website, and books on structuralism approach. Based on structuralism theory, the setting in Prince of Persia movie are related with characterization of the main character. Born in the street of Nasaf Persia makes the main character to be a brave man but he is a humble and has a high solidarity. The main character is also a struggler, he is never in despair to overcome problems. In this movie, Mike Newell wants to reflect that the struggle for truth is being represented by Dastan‟s life. Through the setting, the director shows that person comes from slum has a chance to be a prince and to be a good leader.
