Abstract

This thesis entitled “Morphological Analysis Found in “Most Indonesians Expect Higher Income This Year” of Jakarta Post’s Article on January 18, 2011”, is intended to answer the problem, what are derivational and inflectional morphemes applied in Jakarta Post article on January 18, 2011 and the its function. The reasons to analyze this article are: first, to know about inflectional and derivational bound morphemes applied in the Jakarta Post’s article on August 18, 2011. Second, to know the function of inflectional and derivational applied in the Jakarta Post’s article on August 18, 2011. So, we need to review concept about the morphological analysis applied in the Jakarta Post’s article. This study uses qualitative study to analyze the data. To facilitate the process of analysis, the methods in this study are divided into two parts. They are method of data collection by having library study, from documentation for collecting, and method of data analysis. The writer concludes that the students used the inflectional process is more than the derivational process. So, the writer suggests that the students have to pay more attention in the morphology class so that they can understand more about the morphological process.
