Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze (1) the effect of independent learning on the effectiveness of online learning (2) the effect of student engagement on the effectiveness of online learning, (3) the effect of learning readiness on the effectiveness of online learning, (4) learning readiness moderates independent learning on effectiveness. online learning, (5) learning readiness moderates student engagement on the effectiveness of online learning. This type of research is explanatory research. The research population is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 22 Semarang in the academic year 2021/2022 totaling 256 people. All members of the population are sampled (census). The data used are primary data obtained directly from respondents through a questionnaire. The analysis technique uses a moderated quasi-regression model. The research findings obtained are (1) learning independent has a positive effect on the effectiveness of online learning. (2) Student engagement has a negative effect on the effectiveness of online learning. (3) Readiness to learn has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of online learning. (4) Readiness to learn weakens the influence of independent learning on the effectiveness of online learning. (5) Readiness to learn strengthens the effect of student engagement on the effectiveness of online learning.
