Abstract

This community service aims to provide training on the Break Even Point (BEP) method as a profit planning tool for MSMEs in the city of Semarang. This method is used by most businesses as a tool to test the feasibility of a business through determining the break-even point, where the company does not make a profit or loss. Company management, including MSMEs, need this analysis to plan the desired profit target. The results of initial communication with partners, it is known that the problems faced and require solutions are 1) partners do not understand well the importance and benefits of calculating BEP in their business and 2) partners have not been able to calculate BEP in their business and do not know in what amount (volume and rupiah) their business does not make a profit and does not suffer losses, 3) partners have not been able to plan the profit they want to achieve related to their business. These three problems are caused, among others, by not receiving training from the relevant institutions. The solution offered is to provide training on BEP calculations as a profit planning tool and provide assistance in the field. The results of monitoring and evaluation showed that participants were able to master 70% of the material provided and were satisfied with the training. In addition, the results of the evaluation of mentoring show that 65% of partners have the ability to classify costs, calculate BEP, and make profit planning
