Abstract

Yumiyati. 2018. A Comparative Analysis of Maulana Muhammad Ali’s and Muhammad Muhsin Khan’s Quality Translation of Surah Al-Mulk into English. Research Paper in a Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for an Undergraduate Degree (SS) in English Language and Literature, Supervised by Drs. Liliek Soepriatmadji, M.Pd. Faculty of Language and Cultural Studies, Stikubank University Semarang. The research concerns on the translation study. In this research, the researcher focuses the analysis on the translation procedure or strategy. The object of the research, she chose was the Qur'an English translation translated by Maulana Muhammad Ali and M. Muhsin Khan. The researcher used qualitative descriptive method. She analyzed the translation by reading the source language and then comparing both of translations to find a word, diction and sentence that relate to the translation procedure. She organized and classified the data according to what kind of procedure based on the theory of the translation is. The results indicate that the main translation procedures were addition and omission as used by Muhammad Muhsin Khan. While Muhammad Ali employs Full Translation.
