Abstract
The purpose of study is to estimate about effect of foreign capital inflow to domestic saving
in Indonesia. The data taken from Indikator Ekonomi dan Statistik Indonesia by Badan Pusat
Statistik (BPS) and Statistik Ekonomi dan Moneter Indonesia by Bank Indonesia. Because of this
study want to explain about long term and short term effect of foreign capital to domestic saving,
so it use Error Correction Model (ECM).The estimation show that variable affect domestic
saving is Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in short term and long term. However, GDP has
negatif effect to domestic saving in long term but in short term, GDP has positif effect. So,the
estimation accordance with the theory in short term but in long term does not. Another variable
that affect domestic saving is Export with positif effect in long term and short term. It’s
accordance with the theory. The reality show that foreign capital inflow, both foreign debt and
foreign investment variables are not significant.
