Abstract
This research paper analyzes the theory of personality that are used by the main characters in “The Lord of The Rings Movie”. The movie was directed by Peter Jackson and written by J.R.R Tolkien, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Peter Jackson and released in 2001. The approach used, in this study is psychoanalysis approach. The writer watched the movie and downloaded the movie script as data collection method. Then the writer used psychoanalysis approach to analyze the main character and investigate the Theory of personality used by the main character. Frodo Baggins, Gandalf The Grey, Saruman and Legolas are the main characters. This story is about friendship that will bring the ring to Mordor. In this situation the main character has different personality. Frodo had a big responsibility to bring the ring to Mordor. Gandalf served as mentor and guide for the Fellowship. Saruman is an antagonist who has the power to get the ring for himself. Legolas, he helped and assisted to protect Frodo and his friends.
