Credit card payment is a tool that can be used to pay for a transaction. Many people use credit cards because credit card offers many benefits. Credit cards not only provide benefits to users but also can cause harm, if users can not use it well. The use of a credit card itself could be influenced by several aspects of the personality of its users. This study examined the influence of personality traits in the use of credit cards by using the locus of control as an intervening variable. Samples used in this study were employees at PT. Kinocare Era Kosmetindo Jakarta (n = 63). This study uses regression analysis to test the direct influence of personality traits and path analysis to examine the role of locus of control as mediating between personality traits on the use of credit cards. The results showed that 2 there are personality traits influence the use of credit cards is variable conscientiousness, materialism and locus of control. further positive effect of the variable locus of control as a mediating variable effect on conscientiousness.
