Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to find out how racism as a form discrimination is reflected in the film Get Out (2017) by Jordan Peele. The purpose of this research is to analyze the film based on the film content and to analyze films based on the forms of racism and stereotypes contained in the film. In analyzing Get Out, the authors use qualitative methods and descriptive approaches. Data source consists from primary data and secondary data sources. Primary data sources are film and the secondary data sources is dialogue from movie script in the movie Get Out. Data collection method is coding and analyzed it using sociological approach. The results of this study are shown in the conclusions following. First, this movie it shows that Jordan Peele wants to express his idea about racism in America. Second, based on the sociological approach, there is a close relation between the racial discrimination of African-American and the main character struggle it by Sociological analysis and case, such as the negative prejudice of black people. This movie also describe against the stereotype of racial discrimination of black people.
