Abstract

Song has been an integral part of human culture for thousands of years and serves as a means of expression, communication and entertainment. The use of songs as a learning media is a creative and effective approach to teaching and helping students in the learning process. This study aims to discuss the learning process in teaching vocabulary at SDN Tambangan 01 and describe student’s perceptions toward use of songs as media to learn vocabulary. The method of qualitative case study was applied in this research. The findings show that using songs as a media to learning vocabulary to the first graders of elementary school is an effective and beneficial approach, and also songs could improve students’ pronunciation. It can be shown by student’s participating actively, enthusiast, and the result from student’s test. It can be concluded that students give positive perception about using songs as media to learning vocabulary. Lagu telah menjadi bagian integral dari budaya manusia selama ribuan tahun dan berfungsi sebagai sarana ekspresi, komunikasi, dan hiburan. Penggunaan lagu sebagai media pembelajaran merupakan pendekatan yang kreatif dan efektif untuk mengajar dan membantu siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas proses pembelajaran dalam pengajaran kosakata di SDN Tambangan 01 dan mendeskripsikan persepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan lagu sebagai media pembelajaran kosakata. Metode studi kasus kualitatif diterapkan dalam penelitian ini. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan lagu sebagai media pembelajaran kosa kata untuk siswa kelas satu sekolah dasar merupakan pendekatan yang efektif dan bermanfaat, dan juga lagu dapat meningkatkan pelafalan kosa kata para siswa. Hal ini dapat ditunjukkan dengan partisipasi siswa secara aktif, antusias, dan hasil tes siswa. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa memberikan persepsi positif tentang penggunaan lagu sebagai media pembelajaran kosa kata.
