Abstract

This thesis discusses psychoanalysis in character using the theory of Psychoanalysis by Sigmund Freud. The character is taken from the main character in the Netflix shows "Ginny and Georgia" which tells the life of a teenager and the life of her mother. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method and the data is taken from the Netflix series Ginny and Georgia, its scripts, dialogs, books, articles, journals, and related websites. This finding focuses on Ginny as the main character discussing the personality structure such as her id, ego and superego, her anxieties (realistic, neurotic, and moral), and ego defense mechanisms that Ginny uses such as displacement, sublimation, projection, denial and rationalization.
