Abstract

Kebutuhan akan informasi yang cepat, tepat, dan akurat untuk mendukung dan mempermudah suatu pekerjaan dalam mengakses informasi sangat diperlukan, termasuk pengelolaan surat masuk (SM) dan surat keluar (SK). Penelitian yang dilakukan pada Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil (Disdukcapil) Kabupaten Kepulauan Aru, menunjukan bahwa tata kelola SM dan SK belum optimal. Hal ini dikarenakan tata kelola SM dan SK masih bersifat manual sehingga penataannya tidak terkelola secara baik, pengarsipan surat juga kurang diperhatikan sehingga seringkali terjadi ada surat yang hilang, padahal dalam surat itu berisi informasi yang penting. Masalah pengelolaan SM dan SK yang belum optimal ini diharapkan bisa diatasi dengan sebuah sistem informasi pengelolaan SM dan SK berbasis web yang optimal dan memadai, agar pengelolaan surat dapat tertata dengan baik sehingga menjadi sumber informasi yang tepat guna. Sistem infomasi ini dibuat untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan pengeloalaan surat pada Disdukcapil Kabupaten Kepulauan Aru, agar dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pengelolaan surat masuk dan surat keluar. Sistem informasi pengelolaan surat berbasis web pada Disdukcapil Kabupaten Kepulauan Aru diharapkan dapat membantu instansi untuk lebih efisien dan efektif dalam The need for fast, precise, and accurate information to support and facilitate a job in accessing information is indispensable, including the management of incoming mail (IM) and outgoing mail (OM).
